Help Nasuduan, Palawan rebuild after Typhoon Rai
Donation protected
Nasuduan is a small fishing village located on the island of Palawan in the Philippines. Typhoon Rai has devastated this small village wiping away nearly everything from those who live in the village. The waves and winds have taken their homes away along with everything they own. With very little notice of the upcoming storm, they were not able to prepare and take anything with them except for the clothes on their backs. They have lost their fishing boats and hence their livelihood.
I am a Canadian with a Filipino heritage visiting family near this village. This village has always been close to my heart so when I received a call from Letlet, one of the villagers asking for my help, I knew that my personal help will only go so far. I need to help the whole village, particularly because it is so remote and waiting for government assistance will take much longer as so many areas of this country were hit. I want to help them specially because of their amazing attitude – how they are still so grateful for all the lives that were saved and how it could have been worse, hardly complaining about the loss of all that they have worked for the whole of their lives. Above is Kira, the granddaughter of Letlet, trying to sort through what they can salvage of what is left of their belongings.
I want to raise $10,000 to buy their basic needs such as clothes, housewares and materials for their homes. Please donate whatever you can as even a little can go a long way for members of this community.
