Help Support Officer Larrick Winslow in His Biggest Fight Yet ❤️
Our community is coming together to support someone who has spent the last 21 years serving and protecting it. Our dear friend and local Ferndale Police Officer, Larrick Winslow, is now facing the biggest fight of his life.
Larrick has been diagnosed with Pleomorphic Sarcoma, a rare and highly aggressive form of cancer. While he has spent more than two decades standing up for others, protecting our community, and making a difference in the lives of those around him, he is now facing a long and challenging journey of his own. And now, it's our turn to stand beside him.
Larrick's Treatment Journey
Larrick's treatment and recovery are expected to take approximately 9–12 months and will involve extensive treatment in Seattle at Fred Hutch Cancer Center.
His treatment plan includes:
Radiation: 5 days a week for 5 weeks at Fred Hutch in Seattle.
Surgery: After radiation, Larrick will have a 4–6 week break before undergoing surgery to remove the mass.
Rehabilitation: Following surgery, he will face an additional 4–6 weeks of rehabilitation.
Chemotherapy: 5 treatment sessions, each requiring approximately a week-long hospital stay, once a month for 5 months at Fred Hutch in Seattle.
This will be an incredibly demanding journey, both physically and emotionally, for Larrick and his wife, Michele, as they navigate the challenges ahead.
Supporting Larrick and Michele
Cancer doesn't just affect the person receiving the diagnosis. It affects the entire family.
As Larrick begins this difficult fight, Michele will be right beside him, supporting him through treatments, appointments, surgery, rehabilitation, and everything that comes with this journey. Alongside the emotional weight of watching someone you love face cancer, there are also the financial worries that can come with months of treatment away from home.
Our hope is that this fundraiser will help ease some of that unnecessary financial stress for Michele, so she can focus on what matters most: being there for Larrick, supporting him through his treatment, and helping him fight this battle.
The last thing Michele should have to worry about is how they will afford fuel, accommodations, pet care, and other everyday expenses while Larrick is receiving the care he needs.
By coming together as a community, we can help carry some of that financial burden, allowing Larrick and Michele to put their energy where it belongs: on
Larrick's health, healing, and recovery.
How Your Support Will Make a Difference
We are raising funds to help with the expenses associated with Larrick's 9–12 month treatment and recovery journey, including:
❤️ Fuel and transportation: Traveling between their home in Blaine and Seattle for ongoing treatment and appointments.
❤️ Temporary accommodations: Helping cover the cost of staying in Seattle during his week-long chemotherapy hospital stays and other treatment needs, whenever possible, rather than having to drive back and forth each day.
❤️ Pet care: Helping ensure their pets are cared for while Larrick and Michele are away receiving treatment.
❤️ Additional living and treatment-related expenses: Helping ease the financial pressure that comes with an extended cancer diagnosis and recovery.
Every donation, no matter the amount, can help make this difficult journey a little more manageable for both Larrick and Michele.
Let's Stand Together for Larrick and Michele
Larrick is more than a local police officer. He is an amazing human being, a fantastic officer, a friend, and someone who has dedicated 21 years of his life to serving our community. He has spent years showing up for others, and now we have an opportunity to show up for him and Michele.
Let's help make sure that while Larrick focuses on fighting cancer, Michele can focus on being by his side without carrying the added weight of unnecessary financial worries.
If you are able to donate, please know that your generosity will mean so much to Larrick, Michele, and everyone who loves them. If you're unable to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser, sending prayers, offering encouragement, and helping spread the word are also incredibly meaningful ways to support them.
Let's surround Larrick and Michele with the love, strength, and support of our community. No one should have to face a fight like this alone.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support. ❤️
We are behind you, Larrick and Michele. One day, one treatment, and one step at a time.
