Help Osama Start a New Life in Germany

This fundraiser is on behalf of Osama M.

Hello, my name is Osama M., a software engineer from Gaza. Before the war, I had just begun working at a tech company called Rassel. I planned to work there for a year or two, save enough money, and eventually move to Germany to build a better future.

But then the war erupted, destroying everything. Life as I knew it came to a halt, and the conflict continues to this day.

Today, after enduring one of the most brutal and unending wars, relocating to Germany is no longer just a dream — it has become an urgent necessity. I need to rebuild my life, find stability, and contribute to society in a place where peace and opportunity still exist.

Why did I choose Germany?

As someone from a third-world country, the opportunities to migrate to a first-world country like the U.S. or most of Europe are extremely limited. Most countries do not provide work permits or visas easily.

But after extensive research, I discovered that Germany provides a real opportunity through two specific visa programs:
  • The Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte)
  • The Job Seeker Visa

These visas allow individuals to enter Germany legally, search for employment, and, upon securing a job, convert their visa into a permanent residence permit. After just three years, one can even apply for German citizenship and enjoy the full rights of a German citizen.

Germany also ranks among the top countries in the world in terms of economy, healthcare, and education. The salaries are relatively high, and the quality of life is exceptional.

How did I learn German?

Knowing how important the German language is for both work and everyday life in Germany, I began studying the language intensively and independently in 2022 and 2023.

I dedicated 6 hours a day to learning, and I’m proud to say I have reached the advanced level (C1) — a level that allows me to read, write, speak, and understand German fluently.

I studied grammar, mastered vocabulary, listened to countless podcasts, and watched videos from YouTube and official German channels like WDR, ARD, and ZDF.

Today, I can confidently communicate with native German speakers and integrate into both the workplace and society.

How I Plan to Move to Germany:

I will apply for the Opportunity Card Visa, which is a points-based system. Points are awarded based on:
  • Education,
  • Age,
  • Language proficiency,
  • And other criteria.

To qualify, one must score at least 6 points and show proof of financial means — a blocked bank account with €12,000 to cover living expenses for a full year.

I currently meet the requirements with 9 points, according to the official criteria published by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.

You can read more about the visa on the official German Embassy website:

Total relocation costs:
  • €12,000: Blocked account required for one year of living expenses (minimum €1,000/month).
  • €1,000: Travel and flight expenses.

From a War Zone to a New Beginning:
From the depths of pain, I still believe in possibilities.
Help me escape war and begin a life filled with hope, purpose, and contribution.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to safety and a brighter future.

Please contribute and share this message with anyone who might be able to help.
