Please help our Mum beat cancer

Our amazing Mum has been battling cancer since she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Peritoneal cancer, a rare form of Ovarian cancer, on March 31st 2021. As you can imagine, this has turned our family's lives upside down.

Mum has undergone extensive chemotherapy as well as two major surgeries to try and fight her cancer. On top of this, she has reached out to integrative clinicians suggesting rigorous diets, supplement regimes, and many other techniques to enhance her treatment. However, unfortunately, this hasn't been enough... even though she is doing everything in her power to get better.

Mum has remained so strong and is our very own superwoman; we couldn't be more proud of her.

After a traumatic bowel blockage and emergency surgery a few weeks ago, surgeons have found an inoperable tumour in Mum's pelvis and cancer that has spread through her lymph into her chest.

We have decided as a family to opt for an experimental treatment abroad over standard NHS treatments, which have so far been unsuccessful. Therefore, before the end of July, Mum will travel to Istanbul, to a clinic called Chemothermia, for a minimum of three months. This will consist of low-dose chemotherapy with many supportive treatments. In turn, we hope this will target cancer in her lymph and pelvis while hopefully reducing her risk of becoming chemo-resistant. Resistance to chemotherapy is a huge issue we could face if Mum chose to undergo standard NHS chemotherapy, especially concerning her rare form of cancer, which has such a high rate of reoccurrence.

Following this, we hope that Mum will be able to travel to Valencia to undergo the second stage of treatment, which will consist of personalised immunotherapy. We pray this will give Mum the best chance possible.

There is no alternative for us, and we will do everything in our power to find the money and give our Mum a chance to continue to see us grow alongside our wonderful Dad. Our Mum would never want to ask for help; she's always been so independent and strong. However, she understands that it is necessary that we ask for help wherever we can, to get her to treatment abroad as soon as possible, to beat this horrible disease!
