New York City and beyond: Please help support the businesses and artists affected by the Sep 17 fire get back on their feet and restore this historic building on the Red Hook waterfront. Show your love and support for the small businesses and artists that help make Red Hook so special.

Go Fund Me does absorb fees, so if you want the full amount to go to those affected you can cover the tip during the donation process.

I’m running this as an individual who is a resident and also Executive Director of Red Hook Business Alliance which supports businesses, nonprofits, artists, freelancers and home-based businesses in Red Hook. I was on scene overnight and started this go fund me so it could be distributed as part of the immediate news coverage.

Brooklyn Community Foundation d/b/a Brooklyn Org will act as the fiscal sponsor for this fundraiser and will disburse donations directly to identified grantees who were affected by the Red Hook fires. All funds raised will be deposited into a segregated account at Brooklyn Org to ensure proper financial oversight and transparency. Donations will be distributed according to formal award letters that document each grant and its purpose.

The goal of this fundraiser is to provide direct relief and support to individuals and families impacted by the fires in the Red Hook community. Brooklyn Org has longstanding relationships with local organizations and community leaders in Red Hook, which allows us to identify those most in need and ensure funds are used effectively and equitably.

I will provide updates on needs and affected as we learn more. Until then the total we are looking to raise is unknown.
