Help Sam & her kids after devastating hit and run
Donation protected
You might have seen the news stories about a devastating hit-and-run crash in Brampton that involved a stolen pickup truck and left several people — including two kids — with life-altering injuries. Among those people are my cousin Samantha Ritchie and her two beautiful kids, who are 8 and 12, and they need help.
Sam and her kids were on their way home from a dog training class and sitting at a red light when the stolen pickup hit them at high speed Thursday evening, and the driver fled on foot.
All three are in hospital with extensive injuries, and 8-year-old Nixon remains in a medically induced coma. They have all undergone surgeries, and there are likely more to come. Tragically their beloved rescue dog Finnegan did not survive the crash.
Sam is one of the kindest, most giving people — a single mom and special education teacher who is constantly giving back to her community, and lives for her kids.
Nothing can change the steep uphill climb they are facing, but the GoFundMe could help relieve some of the financial pressures.
Ironically, Sam would be the first person to set up a fundraiser if a loved one, friend, colleague or even a stranger ended up in the same position. So please give generously — any amount large or small will be appreciated, and will go directly to Sam and the kids.
Thank you for your donation. Sam and her kids deserve it! — Dana Doyle
