Urgent Renovation of the Saint Michael Steeple

Polish: Parafia św. Michała Archanioła w Bridgeport, Connecticut jest rzymsko-katolicką wspólnotą wiary, o bogatych tradycjach polonijnych. Od ponad 120 lat św. nasz kościół służy kolejnym pokoleniom jako miejscem modlitwy, wzrostu wiary oraz spotkania z bogatą tradycją. Obecnie w naszej świątyni msze święte odprawiane są w języku polskim, amerykańskim, niemieckim i łacińskim, a nowi parafianie i przyjaciele znajdują w Bridgeport swój duchowy dom. Transmisje online we wszystkich językach docierają do najdalszych zakątków Stanów Zjednoczonych, a nawet daleko poza granice Ameryki. Parafia to miejsce spotkania wielu grup, organizacji i stowarzyszeń. Działa tu również katecheza oraz Szkoła Kultury i Języka Polskiego, w której ponad 100 dzieci uczy się zasad wiary, ojczystej mowy i tradycji.

W ostatnim czasie zostaliśmy dotknięci poważnym problemem....wobec którego zdecydowaliśmy się poprosić Was o pomoc. Nasza wieża kościelna, licząca sobie dokładnie 111 lat, uległa w poprzednich latach licznym uszkodzeniom. Dziś wymaga ona pilnej naprawy. Na wymianę czeka całe okrycie iglicy wieży, koniecznym jest także odnowienie krzyża i odbudowanie piorunochronu. Prace mają zagwarantować bezpieczeństwo parafian, gościom i przechodniom. Wokół wieży zostało wybudowane już rusztowanie, które umożliwiło szczegółową ekspertyzę i oszacowanie nadchodzących prac.

Projekt jest konieczny do dalszego funkcjonowania naszej wspólnoty parafialnej. Całość projektu odbudowy iglicy wieży wyniesie nas ponad 250.000 USD, z czego 100.000 USD zostanie pokryte przez ubezpieczenie. Resztę środków musimy sami uzbierać. Dlatego zwracamy się do wszystkich Przyjaciół naszej Parafii o pomoc.

English: St. Michael the Archangel in Bridgeport, Connecticut is a Roman Catholic faith community with rich Polish community traditions. For the past 120 years, our church has served, and continues to serve as a place of prayer, faith, growth, and encounter with the Lord and Polish Cultural Traditions. Currently, Holy Masses are celebrated in Polish, American, German and Latin. Every day new parishioners and friends find their spiritual home, here, in Bridgeport, CT.
Our online broadcasts in all languages ​​reach the farthest corners of the United States and even further beyond the borders of America. Our parish is also a  meeting place for many groups, organizations, and associations.
We also host our CCD Program and the School of Polish Culture and Language, where over 100 children learn the principles of their faith, as well as native language and tradition.
However, Recently we have been hit by a serious problem for which we have decided to ask you for help. Our church steeple, which is exactly 111 years old, has suffered numerous damages over the many many years. Today it requires urgent repair. The entire metal covering of the spire of the tower is waiting to be replaced... right along with the cross and rebuilding of the lightning system. The works are to guarantee the safety of parishioners, visitors, and passers-by. Scaffolding has already been built around our steeple, which enabled detailed expertise and an accurate estimate of the upcoming works.
The project is necessary for the continued functioning of our parish community. The entire steeple rebuilding project will cost us over $ 250,000, of which $ 100,000 will be covered by insurance. We have to collect the rest of the funds ourselves. That is why we turn to all the Friends of our Parish for help.

German: Die Pfarrei St. Michael der Erzengel in Bridgeport, Connecticut ist eine römisch-katholische Glaubensgemeinschaft mit einer langen Tradition. Seit über 120 Jahren dient unsere Kirche als Ort des Gebetes, des Glaubenswachstums und der Begegnung  Derzeit werden in unserem Kirchort Heilige Messen in polnischer, amerikanischer, deutscher und lateinischer Sprache gefeiert, neue Gemeindemitglieder und Freunde finden in Bridgeport ihre Heimat. „Livestream“ Übertragungen in vier Sprachen erreichen die entlegensten Ecken der USA und sogar weit über die Grenzen Amerikas hinaus. Die Pfarrei ist ein Treffpunkt für viele Gruppen, Organisationen und Vereine. Es gibt auch Katechese und die Schule für Polnische Kultur und Sprache, in der über 100 Kinder den Glauben, die Muttersprache und die Tradition lernen.
Wir wurden vor kurzem von einem ernsten Problem getroffen. Unser exakt 111 Jahre alter Kirchturm hat in den vergangenen Jahren zahlreiche Schäden erlitten. Heute bedarf es einer dringenden Reparatur. Die gesamte Verkleidung der Turmspitze wartet darauf, ersetzt zu werden, auch das Kreuz muss erneuert und der Blitzableiter neu aufgebaut werden. Die Arbeiten sollen die Sicherheit von Gemeindemitgliedern, Besuchern und Passanten gewährleisten. Rund um den Turm wurde bereits ein Gerüst errichtet, das eine detaillierte Begutachtung und eine Einschätzung der anstehenden Arbeiten ermöglichte.
Die Bauarbeiten sind für das weitere Funktionieren unserer Pfarrgemeinde notwendig. Das gesamte Projekt zum Wiederaufbau der Turmspitze wird uns über 250.000 US-Dollar kosten, von denen 100.000 US-Dollar durch eine Versicherung abgedeckt wurde. Den Rest müssen wir selbst einsammeln. Deshalb wenden wir uns an alle Freunde unserer Pfarrei um Hilfe.
