Help Uncle Kev protect his Country
Donation protected
Please donate to help Arabunna elder Uncle Kevin Buzzacott and other elders protect their country from an expansion of Olympic Dam and to stop mining threats at Lake Eyre.
Arabunna elder Uncle Kevin Buzzacott has been fighting to protect his country from the threats of the nuclear industry for decades. BHP want to expand Olympic Dam - again. This will poison the water, the land and his ancient culture.
On top of this, Lake Eyre is under threat from mining companies too.
So much damage has already been done. Please donate to help Uncle Kev and other elders fight against these proposals. They need your help right now.
South Australia is a big place. It's expensive to get around. We're hoping to raise funds for travel for community education and empowerment and to make Uncle Kev's life a little bit easier. He surely deserves it.
"The government does not realise what they are doing to us. Destroying Lake Eyre will be a nail in our coffin, it is the role of the Arabunna people to protect the Lake. We tried to get world heritage protection for it, but lost out to the mining companies. We are not resourced enough to take on this issue. We are very sad to have to beg for money to protect our country and culture. Please help. We know that there are good people out there who stand with us." Uncle Kevin Buzzacott
