Helping Heart - DJ Smoke's Quadruple Bypass ❤️‍

Hi, my name is Ali Jeffries and I am helping raise funds to pay for my good friend and local Jamaican DJ, Ryan Williams, aka DJ Smoke's upcoming Quadruple Bypass Surgery, scheduled to take place Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in Kingston, Jamaica.

 

A kind-hearted and ever helpful soul, Ryan, a born-and-raised Jamaican living in Kingston, is a soca DJ by trade and has barely worked over the last two years due to the Covid 19 pandemic. After shortness of breath and minor chest tightness got progressively worse, Ryan revisited his cardiologist who did an ECG and ordered an angioplasty thinking he needed a somewhat easy fix in order to be back on his feet. Ryan quickly called on his longtime friends in the entertainment sector of Jamaica who pulled together to put on a fundraiser event to pay for the procedure.

 

“This is my first serious medical condition and procedure, says Ryan, “and it has been a big wakeup call for me. Heart Disease runs in my family. I lost three family members to it in 2020/2021 alone, which is why I went to the doctor when I started to feel off.”

 

Unfortunately, the angiogram proved that he had 95% to 99% blockage in all four arteries and would urgently need a quadruple bypass surgery, now scheduled for June 14, 2022.

 

Cost for this major surgery and in-hospital recovery time is $5.5 million JMD (approximately $35,000 USD) so any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Ryan does not have medical insurance, a steady income from which to pull, or even family to fall back on to help him through this. Luckily, what he does have is a strong network of loving friends and fans who can all pitch in to get him what he needs to continue to live.

 

He also needs 10 blood donations 10 days before the surgery.

Since gofundme does not operate in Jamaica and Ryan does not have a social security number in order to open a US bank account, I have allotted a bank account of my own for his funds alone. I will then be paying for his surgery directly using those funds.
