Helping the elderly stay warm at home this winter

Hi all,

We are all so concerned about elderly relatives, neighbours or friends with the impending cold winter months and so many are going to struggle without the Winter Fuel Payment.

We are trying to do our bit by supporting those in our community to have electric blankets that can help keep them warm as they come with low running costs. Many of the elderly population aren't going to be able to leave their homes due to mobility issues to get to a Warm Place, so these blankets should keep people warmer in their own homes.

It has been suggested that thousands may lose their lives this winter and we want to reduce the number in our local areas - Sudbury, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester and Clacton.

If you can spare a few pound we will put this in the pot that can buy brand new fleece blankets that can be used in any area of the home and cost 1p per hour to run.

If you have an elderly neighbour or someone in the Sudbury, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester or Clacton area that could benefit but cannot afford one - we will endeavour to get as many delivered as physically possible with the donations received. We do not wish for this GoFundMe to become political as this is truly not our aim, we are just adapting to the changing legislation and supporting as many people as we can.
