40 Years of Friendship Fundraiser

Tax deductible
We Are Circle Nursery School

Circle Nursery School was formed more than 40 years ago in the heart of Avon, NY, as a mission of Zion Episcopal Church.

We believe that the education we provide is special and sets a strong foundation for a future of success in our students.  Our teachers use an innovative, hands-on curriculum and approach social needs and learning in a unique way.  We encourage friendships, laughter, love and acceptance.

Through the years, we have seen our children bloom from shy 3, 4 and 5 year old kids into bright adolescents, and move on into adulthood to become parents, tradesmen and women, business owners, lawyers, teachers, policemen and women, military members and overall upstanding members of our community and country.

The Impact of COVID-19

Everything our teachers need to provide a proper preschool education comes from the money we raise during our annual Holiday Market, and from the donations from our amazing alumni and community.

We have creatively and collectively worked around everything COVID-19 has put a stop to this year.  But, having to cancel our Holiday Market will be detrimental to our future.

Adding this cancellation, to the cost of what it took to get our school up and running this year (with new COVID-19 health standards and restrictions), will have a severe negative impact on our classroom the rest of this school year, and quite possibly years to come.

The Budget Shift

In a normal year, the tuition of our children pays the salaries of our teachers.  This school year has been significantly different:

*First: in order to provide the extra support needed to clean the classroom, while also providing a high quality education under such strict health standards, we added 2 Teacher Aides to our staff, while reducing the number of students by 10 per class.  In other words, we reduced the amount of money available to pay our teachers while increasing the number of teachers we have.

*Second: we were required to procure a number of health-safety items our budget was not prepared to handle. Here is a list of what we have spent a great deal of our remaining funds on:

1. 2 GermGuardian Air Purifiers
2. GermGuardian Filters
3. Extra sets of school supplies - one set for each of our 24 students
4. Storage Bins - one for each student's set of school supplies
5. Salaries for the additional staff members to assist with cleaning duties
6. Additional cleaning supplies
7. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff
8. New trash cans with lids for PPE disposal
9. New copy and paper expenses (health forms, communications etc.)
10. Special equipment for an isolation area
11. Hula hoops to help students socially distance themselves
12. Health-check, no-touch thermometers
13. Extra hand-sanitizer and extra hand soap
