Jennifer Cadieux passed peacefully surrounded by people that love her. She was a prominent fixture in the Chicago gay and lesbian night scene as a very well known and adored bartender. Jen started her career back in the 80’s at Augies and CK’s and worked in so many of the most popular night clubs. If you knew Jen you knew that even in a packed club the two minutes that she spent making you your drink she made you feel like you were the most special and important person in the room. With her bombshell looks and her flirty eyes she would create a true connection and genuine moment in time with you. Those moments kept the girls and boys coming back to see her for decades. She also had a wicked sense of humor and could have you rolling on the floor in a heartbeat. She just had a beautiful spirit and true light in her heart and in her soul. If you had the opportunity to know Jen you knew what a giving person she was. If she loved you she loved you with all of her heart and would be there for you whenever you needed her. Jen was also a kick ass drummer and played in several girl bands around the city. In her later years Jen spent a lot of time working in animal shelters and taking care of hundreds of little fur babies. She absolutely loved animals especially cats and they loved her right back. When she wasn’t able to continue to take care of her own two senior cats, Abby @ Felines and Canines Chicago took them in without hesitation. It was Jen’s wish to pay it forward to Abby and her shelter. There will be no service by Jen’s request but if you are able to make a donation it will go directly to Felines and Canines in her honor and she would be forever grateful.
