John Walsh medical expenses

Hi, my name is Gerard Walsh, and I'm fundraising for my brother John's medical expenses. John Walsh is a well known and well liked hardworking fisherman and handyman from Cape Broyle. In the fall of 2021 John was diagnosed with a condition called Spinal Stenosis which was causing him great pain and limited his ability to work and even get around. John has always been a strong man and when our mom passed away in April 2021 he was not able to be a pall bearer at her funeral because of his condition which was heartbreaking for him and our family.
When he was finally diagnosed the doctors told him spinal surgery would hopefully greatly improve his condition and enable him to live a normal life again. After the first surgery he had little improvement in his condition and he agreed with the recommendation of the doctors to undergo a second surgery. Unfortunately during the operation John suffered a spinal stroke and was lucky to survive but is now permanently paraplegic. He is paralyzed from his chest area down. Doctors say it is extremely unlikely he will ever regain the ability to walk. This is devastating to him and his family but being John he has not given up. He is adapting to his new situation and most days he is the same cheerful guy we have always known.
Of course with this change in John's health and living circumstances come great expenses. He needs to modify his home to his new condition and the wheelchair that he requires is very expensive amongst many other expenses and his ability to work has been greatly affected. I can guarantee you though he's still trying.
If those of you who know or don't know him can help him a little with the financial challenges he is facing I can assure you we will all be very thankful for your kindness.
John and his wife Wendy have raised four sons and he has two lovely grandchildren and he wants to live his best life with them. Please help them if you can.
