A Legacy of Hope - a Community in Southern Vietnam

Morris was passionate about addressing the poverty he witnessed first-hand when visiting Vietnam. His family is determined that his commitment to helping families that need urgent assistance lives on, which it can do with your generous support. The following words were written by Morris before he left us:
Hi, I’m a 30 year old, living in the UK, who first visited Southern Vietnam on a backpacking holiday in 2018, where I was very fortunate to meet my wife.
My initial impressions of Vietnam were that people welcomed you, generosity was shown no matter the level of poverty and you quickly became part of the community.
Although I had never been involved with the church before I found myself immersed in local church activities and this is how I first had my eyes opened.
There is a huge void between the richest and poorest communities in Vietnam. Families support each other and the church is key to supporting those most in need. On my first visit, I went with the Fathers into peoples' homes giving gifts of money to try and alleviate some of the burdens of life and shine a little light of hope.
I have just revisited the same community, this time being in a position of privilege, after receiving a generous donation from humanityuniversity.me
We have visited the 50th most needy families in the community and supported them with enough money to buy food for several weeks.
This has made me stop and think how I can do more and stay involved in supporting the church to help its community. I don’t want to wait another year before my next visit to become involved again, hence my fundraiser, which for the moment - I hope is just the start.
