LET'S REBUILD SOME SCHOOLS!
We're funding two different primary schools and giving students a healthier, happier place to learn and grow. Then, we head to Latin America with an amazing crew of people to help rebuild them. Help us make it possible!
This two-day school renovation is called an Extreme School Makeover: together we'll transform the school from top to bottom in a weekend, working alongside local members and students to paint the walls, garden, provide new learning materials, paint murals and help with basic improvements that will create a better learning environment for years to come.
Where Funds Go:
We partner with Glasswing International: a world-class nonprofit organization that has done hundreds of these projects in the past 10 years. Glasswing's philosophy is to improve on existing infrastructures in schools, hospitals and community centers, rather than building new ones. Their concept is simple: foster change by investing in a community’s existing resources – its infrastructure and its people.
We doing not 1 but 2 (!!) Extreme School Makeovers before the end of the year.
This projects requires $5,000, donated directly to the nonprofit to cover all supplies, materials, and tools needed to transform the school in a weekend.
How it works:
Journey is a for-profit public benefit corporation, with nonprofit partner Ushwara. Our approach has three parts: transformation of self, community, and world.
The impact work on our trips is made possible by funding and empowering world-class organizations, so that we know every project is needed by the community, and sustainable for the long-term.
You, our community, helps make this impact possible as we grow. You will get a full report on the schools when they're done, and we hope to see you on another Journey soon.
THANK YOU!
