JP's Liver Transplant Expenses
Donation protected
9-month-old Joseph "JP" Stedman needs a life-saving Liver Transplant. JP was born with a rare pediatric liver disease called Biliary Atresia. He underwent the Kasai procedure, the only treatment for Biliary Atresia as there is no cure. The Kasai procedure is an operation to re-establish bile flow from the liver to the intestines.
Although, bile flow has been re-established JP continues to live with complications of Biliary Atresia. Since his surgery, he has been admitted to the hospital 3x due to re-occurring Cholangitis (infection of the bile ducts) that require several weeks of IV antibiotics. JP has an enlarged liver and spleen, cirrhosis (scaring) of the liver, portal hypertension, and has minimal to no growth these past few months.
In his short life, he has had countless sticks and pokes for lab draws, ultrasounds, several clinical and pediatric visits, MRIs, EKGs, ECHOs, x-rays, PICC lines, and therapy sessions.
JP's transplant will take place 4+ hours from home at UMPC-Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh with his big sister, Savannah and big brother, Zachary staying at home with family members.
100% of funds raised will go towards; lodging, traveling, meals, parking, medical bills, pharmacy costs, tolls, and allow JP's father to be with him at the time of transplant as he is the only source of income for the family.
Thank-you for your support and most of all, please pray for JP, his family, and his entire medical team.
