Tony Bourne - Independent Musician

My name is Tony Bourne and I'm an independent musician that supports community events and activities in Stevenage. I design rhythms for parades and displays so that other local artists can perform in their own way be it musically, in a parade or dance.

I work with Junction 7 Creatives and Stevenage Borough Council when they need an event hosting or supporting. To do this out of my own pocket costs money of course and I very rarely get paid for my time or expenses. I need to buy and maintain percussion instruments, some of which get broken (accidentally) by performers. I also buy instruments to expand my capabilities or cater for a particular need for a particular activity.

I have contributed to 2 Stevenage Day events which included parade and stage performances. I have supported a Filipino Barrio Festival which involved a parade and providing an imaginative solution to allow performance of a traditional folk dance. I also supported International Day 2023 by composing and arranging a parade and a stage performance.

I want to be able to expand my services and capabilities by branching out into digital production of music. I have some limited capabilities for that already but I would like to expand in that area. Equipment and software costs money.

Incidentally, my work was part of the reason that Junction 7 Creatives won the Judges' Special Award in the 2023 Pride of Stevenage Awards.
