On March 9th, 2016, Kendall Lemieux kept vigil with his family at his father's bedside as he died. A mere 6 weeks earlier in January, Kendall's father was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma, one of the most aggressive, deadly, and difficult to treat of all cancers.
Four short days after his father died, Kendall lost his lifelong best friend to a heart attack.
On Memorial Day, he lost his aunt to cancer.
And on June 16, six days after his 61st birthday, he was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma--the same cancer he lost his father to three months earlier.
This has been a very difficult year for Kendall and his family. He starts chemotherapy on Monday, July 11th, and his wife Debbie, siblings Troy and Faye, and niece Afton are searching for a suitable clinical trial for him. Kendall lives in Montana and his medical care and participation in any clinical trial will require multiple trips to a cancer center. Kendall is going to need help with travel expenses, medical bills, and lost wages.
Kendall is a carpenter and glazier, and like many do-it-yourselfers in the construction trades, Kendall's house is in the midst of several unfinished projects. After giving the news to his wife Debbie, his first thought was how she was going to fare after he was gone. His biggest fear is leaving his wife behind with mounting bills and an unfinished house.
Those of you who know Kendall know of his generosity, his humor, and his willingness to help others. Your own willingness to help could make the difference between Kendall being with us for years instead of months.
Thank you,
Faye (Kendall's little sister)
