CWIFR- LUCAS 3 Chest Compression System
Donation protected
Central Whidbey Island Fire & Rescue (CWIFR)
Central Whidbey Fire & Rescue is seeking the public’s help in purchasing the LUCAS 3 Chest Compression System, an automated CPR device proven to save lives.
The district responds to medical calls from Coupeville to Greenbank, many of which are for patient’s in cardiac arrest. These are challenging calls for resource-limited districts like ours. The LUCAS 3 will do three things:
1) Maintain uninterrupted chest compressions over long periods (a recent CPR call saw crews providing chest compression for more than three hours).
2) Ensure chest compressions remain consistent and effective, no matter how long the call last
3) Keep our crews safe by allowing them to remain in safety restraints while transporting patients to the hospital.
In short, the LUCAS 3 is a crew member who will never get tired, deliver perfect compressions, and can’t get hurt. For this reason, we’re asking for your partnership to purchase this essential life-saving device.
Please help us reach our goal of raising $18,580 as quickly as possible.
