Marathon for Malawi Twin
Donation protected
I completed the Kent Spring Marathon in 4 hours, 44 minutes and 29 seconds, slightly quicker than my five hour goal.
Thank you all so much for your wonderful donations. There is still time to donate as I will be wrapping up the page on Monday 22nd April 2024.
Malawi Twin project was set up by a group of parishioners from my parish Corpus Christi in Tonbridge.
The Malawi Twin project supports the people of Malawi focusing on health, education and micro loans. The project has sent 14 containers of everyday essentials since 2008. The project has helped fund secondary education for secondary school children who otherwise would have been unable to continue their schooling. The annual solar light appeal has raised money for thousands of lights to be donated enabling students to study at home and to aid evening occupations. Salut-Malawi was established to provide the girls and women with underwear and sanitary products to protect and promote dignity, respect and self confidence.
This marathon is being run in memoriam for Brian Wilkins, one of the founding members, who passed away on 1st January 2024. Right up until his last days, he was working hard to protect the legacy of the project.
So please sponsor me with whatever you can - every penny will go towards supporting Malawi Twin.
