Mariah’s Fight Against Breast Cancer

Donation protected
On May 10th, 2023, our family received the devastating news that our loved one, Mariah Juarez, had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. What doctors initially thought to be a cyst was actually Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Triple Negative Breast Cancer is a rare and aggressive cancer that requires aggressive treatments to fight.

Mariah, a Niagara Falls native and graduate of NFHS, is a 30-year-old Mother of three beautiful children who works tirelessly to make sure they have everything they need. In recent months, Mariah has been struggling with her day-to-day tasks because of many of her symptoms. This has resulted in her missing work on multiple occasions. In the coming months, Mariah will have to endure chemo treatments as well as surgery to remove the cancer. We won’t know the extent of her treatment until we know if the cancer has spread beyond her breast, but we do know it will be tough and physically grueling.

While we have no doubts in our minds that Mariah is tough and will fight with everything she has; we as her support system, want to make sure that she only has her recovery to focus on. That is why on July 30th, 2023 we will be throwing a Benefit in her honor to help reduce the financial burden caused by her illness. It is our hope that our friends and community will aid us in our efforts by donating to the benefit. Any contribution big or small is greatly appreciated by Mariah and her family.

Thank you so much for your consideration!

Update:
In January of 2024 Mariah had a single mastectomy surgery. Following the surgery her margins were found to all be clear and she was deemed free from disease! This incredible news is reason to celebrate but does not mean the fight is over. Because TNBC has a 99% recurrence rate in the first 5 years Mariah is still undergoing maintenance chemo. Later this year she will hopefully receive her breast reconstruction surgery as well. Mariah is back to work but only part time as her meds and lingering issues from the IV chemo affect her daily. She is still working hard to catch up on everything after being out of work for some time and doing her very best to take care of her three beautiful children. Any continued support is greatly appreciated as she tries to build back to the life she had before cancer.
Thank you,
The Family of Mariah Juarez
