MARIN RESIDENTS FOR PUBLIC HEALTH CANNABIS POLICIES is a grassroots organization run by local volunteers.
WHO
We are a community-based group of volunteers who organized in 2020 to educate the community and local policymakers on the impact of commercial cannabis. Founded by Laurie Dubin and Michelle Leopold, we work in partnership with local health care professionals, public health advocates, educators, parents and teens.
WHY
Recently, Marin has seen a self-interested cannabis industry aggressively pursue profits at the expense of public health. We believe public health concerns deserve priority in our community.
WHAT
- M4PH is not anti-pot. We are supportive of the legitimate uses of medical marijuana and the decriminalization of cannabis for responsible adult use.
- We believe locals are entitled to a process that is fully transparent and not driven solely by profits or industry pressure. We offer a public health approach and encourage public participation in crafting policies that impact local communities.
- Our educational efforts assist residents and policymakers in making informed decisions based on the facts – not industry spin.
- Corporate interests do not care about the impact on youth or public health in our communities. Marin Residents for Public Health Cannabis Policies do. We watch for and report improper marketing and illicit advertising of cannabis products and services in our area.

UPDATED 7/20/22 - Marin4PublicHealth is going on opposition to the two Big Cannabis ballot initiatives on the Sausalito November ballot. We have submitted a Statement of Organization (Form 410) against the SPARC initiative for the November election, and all money received from 7/20/22 through the November election will go to defeating the SPARC ballot initiative. Another Form 410 has been filed by No2Both.org to go on record to defeat the Otter Brands initiative in the November election.
*We will need to submit donation summaries to the California Elections Board. We will need your name, address, & employer's name to submit to the CA Secretary of State on all donations going forward, if donating to the 410 Organization, so look for a follow-up email with our gratitude when you donate, asking for this information.
