We are JOUSTING SCOTLAND, Scotland's only professional jousting team! Based right here IN LOCK DOWN on our farm in the Scottish Borders. For the last ten years we have been providing thrilling entertainment each season across the UK and R.O.I. with our action packed jousting tournaments. See a Video of us here!
This season COVID-19 has caused the CANCELLATION of all our tournaments across the land! What are we to do? We have twenty two horses and a team of jousters to feed! Not to mention thousands of fans across the land who will be highly disappointed not to see our knights battle it out on the tilt this year.
By contributing to our "Tournament behind closed doors" you will be helping to not only keep our jousting knights fit and battle ready but our horses too! Let alone putting bread on the table & hay in the stables! We will be filming a jousting tournament with all the thrills & spills of our usual live shows for the entertainment of our loyal fans and jousting buffs across the world. Working with Film Horses Scotland, our sister company, we will be setting up the cameras, lights, action to produce our own filmed version of a jousting tournament and a selection of "mini films" in the lead up to the main event.
What We Need & What You Get
Our usual summer season of live shows provides us with our income for the whole year, it enables us to live, eat, pay the bills, care for the horses & work all winter training, planning and choreographing some of the best jousting shows in the UK.
COVID-19 Lock down means we have no income AT ALL except for whatever aid package the government may manage to dole out, currently nothing forthcoming!
We need over £20,000 to tide us over through this season of cancelled shows. Bearing in mind that without an income all summer we will have no money at all this winter coming. Hard times ahead for your fierce and brave jousters and their trusty steeds.
We are hoping to raise the price of a small 30 minute jousting tournament and for the public to see it filmed by us, as Film Horses Scotland, at our purpose built arena "Behind closed doors"
Along with this we will be releasing a series of mini films charting the journey from the spark of an idea for a tournament behind closed doors to its actual realisation. These mini films will involve our famous character knights in their "home" settings and chart the story of the run up to the tournament. Tongue in cheek, quirky and entertaining "mini films" home made entirely by us, the jousting team, and including our menagerie of performing animals plus magnificent horses. Not expertly filmed & edited by any means but entertaining all the same. Think Blackadder crossed with Fawlty Towers and you'd be close to what we may produce!
With this project we hope to make a start by raising £3,000 to be able to film and release the first tournament "Behind closed doors" and any funds raised will go to helping to maintain the horses and jousters to survive these hard times, heading into Autumn & Winter so financially insecure.
There are many values for our contributors including our usual quality and entertaining jousting story lines, finding out more about us jousters and how we live and work, beating the boredom of self isolation with our entertaining mini films, following the build up to a big tournament and being engaged in the larger event.
Some of our fans haven't had the chance to get to one of our live shows, this way we are bringing a live show to YOU!
The mini films along the way are just the kind of perks you need right now as the country, and half the world, is in lock down.
Risks & Challenges
All jokes and fun apart, these are seriously hard times for us as a live entertainment team and, as we find ourselves locked down onto our own farm with twenty two horses to care for, a team of jousters plus two small children under the age of four, with no income on the horizon, we need to do something, anything to raise any kind of financial income that we can. So we would really like to make a heartfelt appeal to all our fans & jousting fans across the world to help us in our time of need.
We are also acutely aware that we have a huge fan base who are also in lock down and some are in a less fortunate situation than us, we have space, fresh air, horses and our health. We would like to emerge from this lock down with an even better relationship with our fans and through providing mini films and holding this tournament "Behind closed doors" we may be able to relieve the frustrations & boredom of the lock down.

We are very aware that many of our fans, and jousting fans in general, may be in financial distress due to COVID-19 also. If you cannot contribute financially we would ask you to please share, share, share our campaign to get the word out!
