Memorial Services for Donald Lee
Donation protected
The purpose of this campaign is to raise money to cover the the expenses for the memorial service, possible cremation cost and expenses incurred due to the untimely passing of my uncle, Donald George Lee.
On October 6th 2019, my uncle’s body was found in Lake Michigan near the 7000 block of N. Sheridan in Uptown Chicago, Illinois. We are awaiting the complete autopsy but I count it as a blessing that the detective says that she doesn’t think he suffered any trauma. Yet, this still came as quite a shock to our family because we were recently able to reunite with him during his visit to Atlanta this summer. Uncle Donald was the last living sibling of my dad so it was really good to see the joy on both of their faces when they saw each other.
It’s always tough dealing with the loss of a loved one but my cousins, dad and I are in a very challenging predicament due to limited resources and having to make arrangements long distance. Regardless, my cousins and I took off from work, scrapped together what we could and drove to Chicago on October 10th and returned on the 14.
Naturally we were compelled to make an effort to find out what happened to him and to collect what information we could so that we can make arrangements for his body.
My dad’s wishes for the remains of his brother is that he be cremated and that we have a family memorial service in Atlanta.
I will be adding more information about Uncle Donald in the days to come, but due to this being a time sensitive matter, I want to go ahead and get this campaign started so that we can make progress with the memorial service and cremation arrangements for him. Any help we can get toward reaching our goal will deeply appreciated. Many thanks in advanced!
