Carrie’s Courage - Let’s Fight Cancer

Donation protected
This page is for Carrie,

With a very heavy heart I make this post. James, Theo, Ruben, Sandra, and I (Bex - Carries best friend) are devastated to say Carrie has been diagnosed with Metastatic Brain Cancer.

In July 2022 Carrie was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, which is the most aggressive form of breast cancer. After 6 months of intensive chemotherapy, a Mastectomy in January 2023 and further Radiotherapy in April last year, we all thought the nightmare was behind us as Carrie got the all clear and ‘rang the bell’. She went to hell and back but fought it with everything she could, she was so brave and never complained once.

We’d hoped and prayed this was the end….

It wasn’t…. After headaches and dizziness for a few months the doctors thought it may be Vertigo. If only….

In February of this year Carrie had her MRI and has been diagnosed with Metastatic Brain Cancer. This was a huge shock. A week later, after discovering there were 2 tumors, she endured a 7 hour operation which successfully removed one large tumor. But, as she does, she’s warriored on and now started Radiotherapy to treat the second one which was inoperable.

We are hoping to raise as many funds as we can for treatment not offered on the NHS. Sandra, James, the boys and I would be so grateful for every penny donated.

Carrie has had further MRIs last week and hopefully we will get the results this week and can make a plan for treatment options. This isn’t easy in the UK, any treatment options could be in Europe.

The only words I hear from Carrie are ‘I just need to stay here as long as possible for the boys’ Theo is 14 on Saturday and Ruben is only 10, the boys need their Mummy, let’s do what we can!

We all love this girl so much and really, really appreciate anyone reading this and any donations. We NEED her here and to make sure she carries on living her best life with her boys ♥️

UPDATE:

Carrie has been offered another six months of intensive chemotherapy through the NHS. However, at the moment, she is too unwell to begin treatment—her blood cell levels are currently too low.

We’re now waiting on the results of her next MRI following radiotherapy, and have requested her full medical records so we can explore alternative treatment options. Our primary focus is on Immunotherapy, which is showing increasing promise in treating aggressive brain cancers. We’re also reviewing Stem Cell Therapy approaches with medical specialists. We’re actively exploring options abroad, as these treatments are not readily available through the NHS.

To help raise funds, we’re holding a Fundraising Event at The Farmers Arms, Bispham (L40 3SL). Join us for a night of live music and karaoke - tickets are £20. Please get in touch if you'd like to come along

Finally thank you all for your love and support and Please Please keep sharing ♥️♥️
