Mission Ukraine Winter Relief
Donation protected
Winter is a game changer when it comes to war. It has the potential to make or break an army's chance of victory. But the winter is also brutal. Especially in Ukraine. Freezing temperatures, land churned into quagmires, food shortages, and cut off villages and units all make a war zone in winter even more deadly, especially for civilians.
One of the biggest problems with aid in Ukraine is the disparity between which organisations receives donations, and who does the work on the ground. Large NGOs are getting the vast majority of funds, however not enough of this money makes it past salaries, marketing, and bureaucracy. It's generally the small groups and freelancers who are ultimately doing the hard work and making a difference, often giving up everything and burning through their own savings in the process.
In October, I will be taking a pickup truck full of winter supplies to Ukraine, and then I plan to stay in country until the spring. Once I am there I will be working with other individuals and small NGO's; running aid and people to where they are most needed, evacuating civilians away from the front line, and using the 4x4 capabilities of the truck to ensure transport keeps running smoothly in the snow and mud. I will be working with small teams, keeping myself fluid in order to be able to adapt to constantly dynamic situation. In doing this, I will ensure that everything I raise will go directly towards helping those effected by this war. Alongside your generous donations l will be using my own resources and funds to keep myself working as effectively as possible.
I am asking for donations to help me fund my work in Ukraine. There will be a large initial cost just to get myself and a vehicle to Ukraine. This will include acquiring and preparing a capable 4x4, buying suitable PPE and equipment for myself, including body armour, personal first aid kit, and winter clothing, and then travel to Ukraine. Once I am there costs are going to include my own living expenses, fuel, breakdowns, aid and supplies, etc. Any money I can spare will also go to supporting other NGOs and individuals in their work.
If you can donate, thank you. Every donation means the world to me and the people I will be helping and working with.
Please share and spread my story and mission even if you can't donate. The more the word gets out, the more I can help the people of Ukraine.
Thank you, your support is very much appreciated.
