Move For Mary - 5k A Day For 63 Days

Donation protected
As you all may or may not know, on November 19th 2020, on her birthday, my mother Mary was diagnosed with Cancer. The world shattering news no person or family should ever have to hear. Recieving this news I flew home from Australia to what we thought would be the start of mummys treatment. At Christmas, mummy then got told that the Cancer had spread and with the most vigorous mutation, it had spread at a rapid rate. We then got told the deafening news that there was nothing that could be done to treat the cancer and we would have only a small number of weeks left.

Cancer, its somthing that's talked about everyday in conversation, somthing that everyone is aware of, yet, its somthing that you never think you'll be faced with. There is no actual words to describe the crippling and helpless feeling of knowing the person you love the most is going to die and you have absolutely no ability to prevent it from happening.
Being the strong woman she was, mummy faught back against Cancer the best she could but on May 3rd 2021, mummy lost her battle. We lost our best friend.
Anyone who knew mummy would know that she was larger than life, her presence lighting up a room, her infectious laugh and bubbly personality. She always put others before herself, completely selfless in everything she done, her caring and loving nature being one of her best assets.

In Memory of My Best Friend starting September 18th, im going to Run/Walk/Cycle/Hike 5km a day for 63 Days to help raise money for Marie Curie & Tynan/Keady District Nurses Fund, leading up to what should have been my Mummy's 63rd Birthday.
Over the course of mummys illness, Keady & Tynan District Nurses were such an amazing help to myself & our family, providing practical advise, comfort, useful caring materials which they source from their own fundraising. Right until the end, these nurses helped in anyway they possibly could.
Due to COVID, although we were not able to avail of Marie Curies services that much, for the few nights they were able to provid resbite, it was more than appreciated.
These Nurses are your mothers, aunts, sisters, friends, who are all dealing with complex patients daily in your local community, these nurses are lifelines for families like ours who were greatful for the amazing job they did daily.
Mummy was so thankful for everyone who helped me care for her throughout her illness, this is my way of giving somthing back to these vital services.

Words cant comprehend the loss we have endured and continue to endure daily. Our Hearts are broken without you but full with the thought of you. Someone so significant in so many peoples lives, but crucial to our lives, we miss you more and more with every passing day.
