MUNA support victims of Cyclone Freddy in Malawi

Malawian-UK Nurses Association (MUNA) is appealing to it's members and the public for financial assistance to help thousands of people affected by Cyclone Freddy in Malawi. Since March 12th 2023, at least 190 people have been confirmed dead, nearly 600 injured, hundreds are missing and thousands have been displaced as homes and infrastructure have been destroyed. These numbers are rising and we need your help.
OUR PRIORITY IS TO SAVE LIVES!
Our focus is on the urgent procurement of material resources including but not limited to:
- Chlorine (clean water), ORS, Lingers Lactate
- rapid testing kits for cholera and malaria (we anticipate a spike in these conditions)
- PPE (gloves, aprons, boots) raincoats, beddings, clothes
- Food (maise flour, beans, salt, cooking oil, sugar, rice, etc)
- Shelter materials (tents, tarpaulines, black plastic sheets, iron sheets etc)
- Kitchen utensils (pails, cups, plates, cooking pots, spoons etc)
- Technical and specialist support.
