My Camino Journey in Aid of Cancer Research

Hi my name is Paudie O Brien , I am well known in the GAA in Cork and every year for the last 5 years I have participated in the 100daysofwalking initiative with Dr Ciara Kelly and Newstalk. This year I had been struggling with injuries and I decided I’d give it a go , so far it has gone well.

So I have decided that I am going to try and walk the Final stage of the French Camino from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela 115km in 5 days. Starting on April 13th and finishing on April 17th.

This is a promise I made to a good friend of mine back in 2018. He kept his side of the bargain before he passed in 2020 and now it’s my turn. So in his memory I am doing it for Prostrate Cancer Ireland , Cancer research and Cancer services in Cork. Cancer has effected nearly every family in Ireland and this is my way of trying to help these families throughout the country .
