We are all very aware of the need to sanitise, don’t touch your face, wash your hands etc
As a Design engineer currently working from home as many of us are, my thoughts were with my mother working at the hospital every day in these troubled times.
So I decided to design and manufacture a little tool that would enable her and her colleagues to press lift buttons, and pull opens doors without having to risk contamination, I am a member of a lot of 3D printing communities online and saw similar things being made overseas so I thought why not design one for our fantastic NHS staff in the UK.
So I made a handful of handy little tools as a thank you and keep safe for my mother and her NHS colleagues.
They could not get enough of them. As soon as I was able to make them, they were gone. They proved to be so popular that I have been asked if I could make enough for 6000+ front line NHS staff at local hospitals and ambulance services in Essex
I was able to pay for the first batch and it was a pleasure to do so, but I need to raise the money to pay for filament required to manufacture the new requirements.
Fortunately, a few friends and I have enough 3D printers between us to be able to make 100 units per day running them through the day, and the night.
As donations are received, we will purchase the filament required, print and distribute immediately to not waste time getting these to NHS branches in Essex.
NHS staff are putting their lives at risk right now more than ever, join me in doing what little we can. We have the printers and the time, I just need as much filament as we can afford.
