Help Nick with Vehicle Repairs

Recently my Subaru engine died. Number 3 Cylinder failed due to a botched rebuild job that the engine received before I bought the vehicle. As it stands, this is my only transportation to and from work. I do have alternate transportation in the form of CalTrans however this is will not be a viable alternative as my company will not cover this due to the reasoning that they do not have to cover personal transportation.
I have sourced a reliable short block for my particular model. It will cost $1,095, not including Core, nor supporting hardware, also not including any shop work for the Cylinder heads. Here is the link for the Engine -
