Ollie Cox Injury Fund

On July 25th our friend Ollie Cox was involved in a horrific accident that has resulted in life changing injuries. His medical team confirmed that he had broken bones in his back, neck, and shoulder along with broken ribs and that he would require surgery to stabilize his damaged vertebrae. Ollie’s damaged T9 vertebrae severed his spinal cord resulting in irreversible paraplegia (paralysis from the waist down).
Ollie underwent vital surgery the day after his accident and was subsequently on a ventilator. Ollie will have to remain in hospital for a recovery period of approximately 3 months followed by transfer to a rehabilitation center.
Ollie is a loving husband and a dedicated father to his three sons aged (a newborn; "9th of October 2019"), 8 and 7. Ollie’s wife has had to give up work to care for him and their family. It is our hope that with this campaign that we can ease some of the financial worry for his family.
Ollie is a hardworking, family man and is very much loved by his mother, brothers and sisters; he is a valued member of his local community of Clondra in Co. Longford, taking part in community events and training the under age players.
Ollie’s wife and family are grateful and blessed that he is still here with them and we are hoping to raise adequate money to help with the enormous expenses that he will incur in the coming months to help him navigate his life in a wheelchair.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1. Prayers: We ask that you join us in praying for Ollie’s recovery and rehabilitation.
2. Please Donate - every little bit helps!
3. Share the link and story with your connections on all of your social media platforms!
4. Members of the local community in Clondra and neighboring Tarmonbarry have come together and set up a fundraising committee. Along with our gofundme campaign the committee will be working on organizing other fund raising events in our community over the coming months to raise these much needed funds towards Ollie’s recovery and rehabilitation. You can donate to these events or take part/volunteer at these events, details of which will be posted on this page.
Note: Ollie’s current home will not support wheelchair accessibility and will require costly modifications. Ollie will also require specialist equipment to enable him to live his life as independently as possible with his injuries. All funds raised during this campaign will go towards the care, equipment and home modifications necessary to create a safe and functional environment for Ollie once he makes his way through Rehabilitation. We would be grateful for any assistance to ease the burden of these upcoming expenses.
On behalf of Ollie, his wife and family, we THANK YOU for your prayers, your help, your generosity and support.
