Pennies For Paws 2.0
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Tyler Fuger. I am 14 years old and am in the eighth grade at Cornwall Middle School. A few years ago, when I was 11, I did a fundraiser for the local animal shelter and raised $3,064.00! I was really proud of that. You can still read about it on the Times Herald Record under Tyler Fuger/ Pennies for paws! I found out in the newspaper recently that the Hudson Valley SPCA had to take in a whole bunch of animals recently, all at one time because someone was mistreating them. A lot of families, including mine, donated blankets, food, toys, cleaning stuff and a whole bunch of other things. I was worried that they were going to have to use up all of their money for them and wouldn’t have any later. I would like to help get them some money and things they need.
My family has three dogs. Max, Finn and Tessa. They all have birthdays in June and I wanted to have a birthday party for them. This won’t be a normal birthday party though. We will send out invitations to all of our pet friend families and even ones that don’t have pets. I am making up fliers to put all around the area and will call the newspaper and see if they would interview me again. Maybe I can have the businesses send it to their customers. I am going to ask everyone to bring birthday presents of things the shelter can use and money too. We are going to have a station where you can meet some of the animals that are up for adoption and maybe adopt one or be a foster parent. I am putting the adoption application in with the invitation so if anyone wants to, they can start right away. We will have games, a photo booth, a silent auction, food and people from Veterinarian’s offices, groomers hopefully trainers to tell you all about what they do. We might even have a representative from the service dog agency and a real service dog named Breeze. This is where your business comes in. I am looking for donations, anything you can do to make it happen will be really great and I will make sure your name is included on the final list for donations to the shelter. Thank you for reading my letter.
Regards,
Tyler Fuger
