Please help Austin get treated for Behcets Disease

Melissa has been taking care of children with developmental delays, or autism and as a foster parent for many years. Recently she adopted her 3-year-old son, for whom she has been taking care of since he had just turned a year old. Austin is the sweetest and cutest little boy you can imagine. He loves reading with his mama about the mama and baby animals, riding his balance bike, playing soccer, making friends with every animal that comes by. He currently has a best friend ladybug that he’s played with for hours the last two days, he sits there telling his friend that he’s safe and he loves him. He also loves to play in the dirt, be chased around the house and go on adventures. He would love to be a dragon or an eagle so he can fly in the sky. He loves dressing up in costumes and having adventures around the house or outside. And looks forward to going to the farm all summer and fall to pick fruits and vegetables.

Unfortunately, Austin's health has not been as it should be. He has been suffering from skin rashes and skin lesions, extreme mouth sores, ear problems and he has constant pain in his eyes. Melissa has been a single mother right from the start and naturally had to continue working to provide for both of them but Austin's illness has made this extremely hard for her. All she wants is to be with him all the time to protect and comfort him but, however, without a job there would no food on the table and no roof above their heads, causing a great dilemma for Melissa.
Recently they found out that Austin has the very rare auto-immune system decease called Behcet's Syndrome. Austin needs to see at least 4 different specialists to figure out how to best deal with this illness that is even rarer among children and worsens during the years. These are appointments that need to occur a few times a year, in order to best monitor his condition. Other symptoms that occur during the years are blood vessels inflammations and blood clots, arthritis, blindness and brain inflammations, as well as organ system issues, and neurological behçet’s. Therefore it's essential that Austin is getting treatment. It's very frustrating and sad that health insurances turn Austin down as his health problems have been pre-existing for several years already. Leaving Melissa's boy without proper insurance who could cover the enormous expensive appointments and high-cost medication Austin needs to deal with this disease and give him treatments for pain relief. Over the past year, Melissa has been tirelessly and desperately contacting insurance companies, hospitals and doctors all over the US to get her boy seen and treated but has received nothing but closed doors, all because they are not taking Austin's current insurance. It is all about money. A little one's health is at stake and no doctor seems to care or do something about it! Melissa has contacted the Behcet's specialists in the US but none of them were willing to see Austin because of his insurance unless she would pay out of her pocket, which would be too expensive.

For that Melissa and Austin will need a large sum of money to cover travel costs, medical and daily costs. Ideally, they would go there as soon as the current Covid-19 restrictions will allow it. To make this possible Austin and Melissa need your help. We kindly ask you to donate to make Austin's treatment possible so that this wonderful little boy can grow up without being in constant pain. Whatever you can spare, even the smallest amount will be of great help and very much appreciated.
