Help with Josue's Medical Expenses

On Tuesday evening, September 21st, 2021, Josue and his girlfriend (pictured above) were in a terrible accident and left with life-threatening injuries. They were stopped at the stop sign before attempting to cross the highway when they were struck on the driver's side. Both were sent to INOVA Fairfax Hospital's level I trauma unit. Josue underwent two immediate surgeries and blood transfusion for internal bleeding in two areas. Josue is suffering from several lacerations, a hip fracture, collapsed lung, and a head injury that is causing trauma to his brain. He has been unconscious since the accident and unable to breathe on his own. At this time, the doctors are keeping him sedated and closely monitoring him. Fortunately, we have seen a little bit of response with some movement in his legs and the doctors have been able to help reduce the brain swelling with medications.

Anyone that knows Josue, aka JSwayy as he loves to call himself, knows that he is the kind of person that will welcome anyone with arms wide open. There are only a few kids I know that are as passionate about their hobbies and aspirations as he is. Running being one of the many things he loves and works tirelessly to better himself at. He had just started his junior year determined to focus on school and his passion for running, and this tragedy may set him back.

We are asking our family, friends and strangers alike to please keep Josue and his girlfriend in your thoughts and prayers, and if at all possible, please help our family collect the finances that come with planning his recovery and alleviating the financial burden of medical costs as our mom and dad are by his side. Any donations will help, thank you!

Our babies are really fighting hard and we know they’re not giving up. We appreciate everyone’s prayers and we will try our best to keep everyone updated. Please continue to pray for Josue, his girlfriend, and our families as he undergoes future surgeries and transitions into recovery.

If donating at this time isn't possible, sharing this page will be very helpful as well.
