Red Day - Walk or Run in aid of Air Ambulance NI
The Loughshore community of Ardboe and Moortown is planning a massive fundraising effort in aid of Air Ambulance. The 'Red Day' for Sunday 6 March. The main event is a Community 5k walk, jog or run and is led by four from the parish who have personal experience of this charity. Chris Muldoon, Kevin McDonnell, Ciarán Kelly and Andrew Canavan will share the impact of the work of this charity on themselves and their families in the run up to this event.
On the 6th March there will be the opportunity to either Walk, Jog or Run 5 or 5km so that all members of the community can get involved.
We will encourage everyone to get out on the 6th March dressed in red to help raise funds and awareness for the Air Ambulance NI.
Air Ambulance NI, is a charity in Northern Ireland. They work in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), to provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the region. The charity is self funded and vital to the North of Ireland. Serious or life-threatening situations can happen to anyone at any time and on average, every single day in Northern Ireland, two individuals find themselves in critical need of AANI. With 2547 taskings from its launch in July 2017 to October 2021 it displays the critical need for this entirely self funded charity.
In our local community there has been 4 members who have needed the help of the service which is the reason behind the 'Red Day' fundraiser.
Refreshments will be available to everyone following the event in Ardboe Hall! There will also be the opportunity to donate at the venue!
