None of the members of CaliDivers SCUBA Diving Club were onboard the Conception boat the morning it caught fire.

Early in the morning of Monday, September 2, 2019 the dive boat Conception caught fire and sank. More than 30 scuba divers, on a weekend live-aboard trip sleeping below deck, perished.
The Conception was a boat that CaliDivers chartered in the past. We had taken half a dozen trips on the Conception around the Channel Islands through its operator Truth Aquatics. We consider its captain and crew friends.
While we did not personally know any of these divers, as fellow SCUBA divers we feel the duty to help those who were involved. CaliDivers started this GoFundMe campaign to aid the families of the victims of this terrible event. 100% of the money collected will go to those families.
CaliDivers is working with California Strong (https://www.californiastrong.org) to distribute the funds we raise. California Strong is a local Southern California organization who has helped raise and distribute donations in the recent past. They have the infrastructure and connections to ensure money goes to the right people.
