Richard Pitts’s Medical Bills

Almost 10 years ago, Richard was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. It was determined that he would have surgery to remove the cancer from his colon and a permanent colostomy.  Sadly, in 2017, his cancer returned and be began a regiment of chemo therapy.

The donations from Go Fund Me will be used immediately to help pay his medical expenses. The funds will help alleviate the mounting medical bills.

Richard Pitts dedicated his life to "instilling a desire for life long learning, recognize our cultural diversity, and foster creative potential in children, families, and our community".  Richard Pitts' passion for helping other could be seen by his job as the director of the nonprofit organization, Wonder Workshop. Mr. Pitts was a wonderful part of the Manhattan community. 

On May 11 at 11:15am, Richard Pitts passed away. He was a wonderful mentor and friend to all. Richard Pitts was a natural storyteller, a drummer, a historian, and so much more. He was an inspirational pillar of our community and he will be deeply missed.
