Bucket List - castles to visit before I die

Hi, My name is Robert Hale.

In April 2021 I was diagnosed with leukaemia (AML). I had a rough few months in hospital getting to the point of a bone marrow transplant and into remission.

 

I was told the liklihood of relapse was very high and that because the leukaemia spread to my central nervous system I only have around a 10% chance of living beyond 5 years.

 

I am currently not working because of the complications i experienced during my treatment so i am living a fairly quiet, lonely and modest life which really doesn't involve me going out or doing much.

 

While I was in hospital I gave myself the bucket list goals of visiting every Castle in the UK (I didn't quite realise how many there were at the time) but with no savings, no camping equipment and no caravan - but it looks like it's a bucket list that's beyond my reach. Not just because of the sheer number of places, but because of the logistics, cost and time etc... 

Because travelling the uk to visit all these places looks like it's off the cards now, I'd still like to be able to go somewhere and have at least one final memorable trip before I go.

 

I appreciate its unfair and self centred of me to ask the public to help financially with these things, especially as there are people far more needing and deserving than me out there... but I don't see any other way at the moment.
