We Love Cheryl

Donation protected
Lost far too soon, Cheryl Bedini was a champion for Sag Harbor kids and the broader Sag Harbor community. A loving mother, wife, sister, and aunt, a cherished friend, and an advocate for young people and local businesses, she touched so many people in so many ways.

Cheryl died at home on Wednesday, April 22, leaving behind her husband, Andres, her teenage daughters, Chiara and Ani, and a community that that loved her and mourns with them. You may have known Cheryl from Java Nation, which she and Andres opened in 1994, transforming the Village of Sag Harbor and later Bridgehampton with the aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans.

You may have known her for her unflinching dedication to the Sag Harbor School system, where she was involved with the PTSA and the school garden, and was the driving force behind the district's wildly successful Multicultural Night.

You may have known her as a fierce competitor in Townline BBQ's trivia nights, or from the East Hampton Village ocean beaches, which she loved, or the tennis courts. She may have been your first boss, your tennis partner, your kayaking buddy, your softball teammate, your biggest booster, your mentor, your reality check.

She meant so much to so many, did so much for so many, and was a powerful force for good. Let's pay it forward and help the Bedini family now as they navigate this immediate crisis and the difficult months to come. In the spirit of Cheryl, please give what you can, and continue to support Java Nation.
