Salmon SDA Parsonage

Donation protected

We, the Salmon Seventh-Day Adventist Church, have a great need for a church parsonage in Salmon, Idaho. Our church is located 145 miles south of Missoula, Montana and 165 miles northwest of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and the remote location has made it challenging for us to obtain a pastor. We currently have a membership of 90 which, through our offerings, supports our church building, a K-8 school, and an older       school building that is used for our active community services (Dorcas). The SDA conference will provide half-pay towards a pastoral income; however, with the current real estate market in Salmon, it isn't financially feasible for a half-time pastor to purchase a home. Rents in Salmon have recently doubled, which makes even a rental out of reach on this income. We are very thankful that the last three generations have generously provided for our lovely church, but it has become obvious that if we are to have a lasting pastoral presence to shepherd our flock, we must invest in a parsonage. This is the only way we can ensure that our younger generation will have a Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

We are deciding between two different floor plans for a small 1,500 sq. ft. home that will be built on owned property located next to the Dorcas building and school yard. Building costs are high in Salmon and, thankfully, most of the labor will be donated. Our goal is to raise $175,000, and we estimate this project may take two years to complete. We know we have a long way to go, and we have organized a fundraising committee that plans to be aggressive in our efforts to raise the money.

Salmon is an idyllic place, surrounded by beautiful mountains, water, and many recreational activities. We invite you to visit the area anytime-- know that you will find a loving community and plenty of adventure here! If the Lord speaks to your heart, please donate to this cause and help us ensure there will always be a Seventh-Day Adventist presence in Salmon. We welcome all prayers for the success of our endeavor.
