Send Youngest NJ Delegate to DNC
I have been selected as a young Latino to represent Bernie Sanders as a delegate at this year's Democratic National Convention. Although New Jersey Dems speak about diversity, among the state's convention delegates I seem to be the youngest and am one of the few ethnic minorities. I'll do my best to help represent us ethnic minority, millennial, Latino, low-income folk to the best of my abilities ... IF you can help me get there.
It's a bit crazy that the DNC has arranged for blocks of hotel rooms at $500 a night with – get this – a 5 night minimum stay, which means a hotel bill of $2500 before food, travel and parking. This is not inclusive democracy at work, here, friends, which makes it even more important that supporters like me are at the convention pushing Bernie's agenda of social justice and a truly democratic society in America.
I will need about $3600 dollars to cover my costs for the convention, incidentals and etc. As a recent college grad this is an impossible nut for me to crack alone, so I hope you can help me out with a contribution. Big or small, all contributions will be valued and will help! I will do my best to support him and the return to true principles of democracy for the Democratic Party.
Things I did to help him get elected:
Help numerous phonebanking events in Bergen County and one in Middlesex: some of them were in both Spanish and English. Not only did we hold them but we encouraged people to phonebank whenever they had a free time at home or for lunch since they knew how to do it from that point on. I donated a bit of money to his campaign, small amounts but it was what I could afford, I did door-to-door canvassing, registered some new voters who wanted to vote for him and had some people fill out vote by mail ballots so they could vote before the June Primary here in NJ. Lastly, and I feel most importantly I educated people about all he stands for and why they should vote for him and if they didn't want to listen to me they should look into him on their own time. Whatever I could do to help him I tried to do to the best of my ability.

He sido seleccionado como delegado para representar a Bernie Sanders y New Jersey en la Convención Nacional Democrática este més. Los Demócratas del estado hablan de promover a la diversidad. Pero entre los diputados de New Jersey no soy sólo el más joven sino también uno de los pocos minorías étnicas. En la convención voy a abogar fuertemente para los derechos de las minorías étnicas, los milenios, Latinos y la gente de bajos ingresos a lo mejor de mis habilidades ... siempre y cuando pueda conseguir la ayuda financiera necesaria para asistir al DNC. Ojalá me puedas ayudar.
Parece locura que el Partido Demócrata de New Jersey está obligando a los delegados de éste estado a permanecer en habitaciones de hotel al costo de $500 la noche – con estancia mínima de 5 noches. Tal que la factura de hotel para cada delegado será $2,500 sin contar comida, viaje ó estacionamiento. Esto claramente no es democracia inclusiva, hecho que lo hace aún más esencial que nosotros partidarios de Bernie manifestemos una presencia potente en la convención.
Necesitaré acerca de $3,600 dólares para cubrir todos mis gastos. Un recién graduado de universidad como yo no tiene la habilidad de recaudar tanto dinero sin amplio apoyo.
