Dog Rescues in Ireland are at crisis point as they cope with a 70% increase in dogs being surrendered. Dubbed 'covid castouts', people who bought dogs during the pandemic and now need to return to work are surrendering dogs in their droves.

Due to greedy & irresponsible breeding practices, lots of these dogs have complicated genetic defects the likes of which rescues have never seen before. They now have massive vet bills which are hugely draining on already scarce resources.
