SOL SEEKS GB TEAM BEACH SPRINTS SPONSORSHIP
Donation protected
My name is Sol. I am 17 from Milford on Sea on the UK's South Coast and I have been selected by British Rowing to be currently one of only two U19 males in the GB Beach Sprints Team.
An exciting new format of rowing and one which is being introduced in the Commonwealth Games in 2026 and the Olympics in 2028, Beach Sprints involves running to the boat, navigating a coastal slalom rowing course and sprinting from the boat to the finishing flag on the beach. Skilful sculling, power, navigation, quick-thinking and nimble running are all part of the successful speedy package.
I am the youngest member of the GB team and this year I have won the English U19 Beach Sprints Championships and jointly crowned the winner of the Four Nations U19 Championships (England, Scotland, Wales and Jersey).
I have recently returned from Gdansk in Poland, where having only been in a boat a handful of times with my newly selected partner, Leah (18 from Evesham), we successfully placed fourth in the U19 mixed doubles at the European Championships in June.
With a full summer of training ahead with Leah, our next major race is the World Championships in September in Italy. In order to facilitate my journey however, I am looking for sponsorship, as whilst British Rowing support me entirely with coaching, I supply my own blades and have to pay fully for my international trips in order to race and proudly represent Great Britain.
In addition to my ‘A’ Levels, I am working for Solent Rib Charters and Lymington Sea Water Baths as much as I can, but on top of training six days a week I am struggling to secure the time and the funding for my next stage of racing. Please do help if you are able - every donation is very much appreciated and helps enormously to secure my Team GB journey.
