The 2020 South Portland Christmas Toy Drive Needs Your Help!
Our process has changed this year and we need your help more than ever.
This is our 9th year for the drive and involves a partnership with the South Portland Police Department, South Portland Police Patrolmen’s Association, South Portland Fire Department, The South Portland Professional Firefighters Local #1476, South Portland School System, South Portland Community Center, Maine Roofing Inc, Evelyn’s Tavern, Port Harbor Marine and Peoples United Bank Millcreek.
Each year we have provided a new warm coat, boots, hats, mittens and toys to South Portland children in need. Last year was our biggest year helping over 260 children. This year we anticipate an even greater need as so many have suffered at the hands of the pandemic.
Due to Covid-19 concerns we have modified our process to keep our families and volunteers safe. We will discontinue adopting families and toy drop off locations this year. Instead we will ask the public to donate financially or in the form of gift cards. All of the money and gift cards raised will go directly to help the families. We will use these contributions to secure the needed items. The average cost per child is approximately $200.00.
We’ve made it easier than ever for you to donate and help make the holidays a little brighter for children in our community.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. This truly is a caring community and we appreciate your support!
