Stephen and Xander Wee

I've tried writing out an intro so many times and keep finding myself without the words. We are starting this fundraiser on behalf of my sister-in-law, Karla Wee. Our family suffered an unbearable loss yesterday when we tragically lost not only one but two. My sister and I, (Holly Boyd and Heather Braegger), lost our baby brother at the age of 46. But, what makes this even more traumatic is that his son, Xander, was also lost. Our brother suffered a medical emergency that caused him to lose control of his vehicle. Neither one survived.

While our grief is immeasurable, it is nothing compared to the family he leaves behind. My brother was a husband to a true angel who loved him fiercely and completely. Steve could be difficult and stubborn and she loved him through it all. She was always there for him. They were married in 2000. The following year 2001, we unexpectedly lost my Dad and Karla stood by him, helping him through. She was a rock to him and to our whole family. Unfortunately, the scene would repeat after the loss of our Mom in 2018. But, her love and strength for Steve never wavered.

But, so many wonderful things happened, they became parents of a beautiful boy who they named Xander. Xander was a beautiful soul. He was their pride and joy - a perfect baby boy. Years would go by, just the three of them, and then one day, we found out that Karla was expecting twins! Kai and Scarlett came into the world!

His children were everything to him and his love knew no bounds. They were the perfect family of 5, but now, only 3 remain and they need our help.

Steve was unable to get life insurance due to his pre-existing conditions. They had nothing in place to plan for such a tragedy and are now faced with insurmountable costs. We are trying to raise as much as we can to help them with funeral expenses and any other expenses the family has. This money will help give them a much-needed hand while they are drowning in this grief. Anything in excess of the cost of the funerals will be used at the family's discretion towards securing a future for his wife, Karla, and 2 remaining children, Scarlett and Kai.
