Support Al Hood In His Recovery

Hello, all!

 

My name is Kyrie Hood, I'm Al Hood's daughter. I am starting this fundraiser to help financially support my dad while he recovers from his recent accident. I also want to use this platform to keep his friends and family updated as his healing progresses.

 

On January 27th, Al fell and hit his back and neck. He was instantly paralyzed from the neck down and was taken to the hospital to undergo his first cervical spinal surgery. The surgery was long and intense but it went well and he was able to recover some feeling in his shoulders, which is very promising. He has another thoracic surgery scheduled for February 2nd. Shortly after, he will be moved from the ICUA to the trauma center and eventually to rehab to undergo physical therapy.

 

The future is uncertain at this time as everything is so new, but we do know it will be a long and intensive recovery and any and all positive thoughts are greatly appreciated.

 

My dad is a very strong, talented, and grounded individual and extremely well-loved by friends and family. I have no doubt that he has an incredible support system and will be able to get through this with our help!
