DJ Hartman was in a swimming accident on May 16, 2026, in Watertown, WI. He was flown to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, and underwent surgery to support the broken C4 and C5 vertebrae and damaged ligaments. After a three week stay at Children's, DJ was air transported to Barrow Neuro-Rehabilitation Center in Phoenix. The extent of support for DJ is becoming clearer as he continues his healing.
DJ is learning the skills he needs to function at home while his body continues to recover. He will need therapy to learn to walk again and develop skills to work with whatever abilities he regains as he continues the slow process of recovery. Only God knows what that level will be, but doctors know that recovery will be a long road. Once he is home, he will need transportation to his physical and occupational therapy sessions, as well as a motorized wheelchair to help him regain independence.
We all know the fun loving, smiling DJ. Supporting his needs will help him as we see his recovery progress to whatever extent the Lord has in mind. We know that all things work for the good of those who love him! DJ's journey will be difficult, and supporting him on that journey through your generosity would help him in his recovery and his ability to adjust to life after the accident. Thank you for helping out. You can follow DJ's recovery at https://www.caringbridge.org/site/509abec4-5498-11f1-ba33-915b42a1d5ea?
