Supporting our friend Clifty
Donation protected
Nathan Clift (Clifty to some) is not only a loving and caring husband to Claire, a doting dad to AJ and another bub on the way in June (only 16 weeks to go!), but is a loved son, favourite workmate, aspiring firefighter, surf lifesaver and is genuinely just the friendliest guy you will ever meet.
So it was a huge surprise when back in October 2019 after simply playing with his young son he received an unintentional kick to the crotch that was still sore the next day, earning him a trip to the local emergency department where they found an unknown mass in his right testicle. After doing an ultrasound they were unsure if it was from trauma or something more sinister. He then had a follow up scan, which showed no change and the next week he was in hospital for emergency surgery to remove his right testicle. It was determined then that he had stage 1 testicular cancer. He recovered like a boss and was back to work and helping out again quickly. Then earlier this year after a follow up ct scan they discovered that his cancer was now in one of his lymph nodes in his pelvis this now moved him to stage 2 cancer and requires him to under go chemotherapy.
And just to make sure everyone knows how special he is, his cancer has now also pushed on his inferior vena cava (big vein that takes blood back from body to heart) and created a clot that now has his medical team (including Drs from Geelong, Melbourne and USA) keeping an extra careful eye him.
Nathan and his family know that this next stage in their journey is going to be rough but they are keeping a positive attitude and if there is anyone that can kick cancers butt it’s going to be Nathan.
So many people that know and love him have been busting to help Nathan in any way they can, knowing that Nathan is always the first to jump in and help out his friends and family no matter the circumstances.
Nathan is reluctant to accept this help but understands it will take the burden off him and his growing family, and allow him to focus on healing.
Any donation no matter how small will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much for reading.
