Smokey, my beautiful cat was hit by a car

Hey everyone, I’m Kelsey Holyk, and I’m sharing this post for my beloved cat, Smokey.
Smokey is a cherished member of the Oak Bay community and has always stuck close to home. I keep a tracker on him so I know where he is at all times. Some of you may have seen him inside of bosleys as he hangs out there everyday with the staff. Sadly, he didn’t come back last night. This morning, I received the heartbreaking news that somebody had hit him with their vehicle and was left. Smokey is suffering with severe injuries, including a broken jaw, serious oral injuries, and trauma to his eyes and nose. With the assumption ( best case scenario) that there is no head trauma or internal bleeding, he should eventually make a full recovery, however I’m still waiting on information of the severity of his condition. The funds we raise will go directly towards his medical expenses, surgeries, medications, and supplies to help him eat. As this will be a long healing journey for him we are hoping to get enough funds to start the recovery process. I Thank you all in advance for your kindness and support!
update: Smokey’s ct scan came out a lot worse than we were hoping for. One of his eyes has ruptured and would need to me removed. And his scull and jaw has a lot of fractures everywhere, some that may not ever heal. He is in a state that this is starting to look like goodbye. Even if we had the funds, proceeding to care for him will mean a lot of funds, a lot of medicine and a lot of pain for sweet Smokey. I have done an interview with CHEK news and will be on tonight’s newscast.
we still have some funds to raise to pay for all of Smokey’s expenses.
thank you all for your support, this may be the end of Smokey’s adventures. I will update once I’m done with all of that. Thank you all
update: Smokey has passed. He had lots of loved ones around him in his last moments. He was purring lots. I got to lay with him after and have lots of cuddles. I was alone for that part but i honestly like it that way. It was a nice end. Thank you all for your support. We will still be needing some funds to finish off his bills. Thank you all for your generosity
CHEK news had reached out to me today and they will be broadcasting Smokey’s story on the evening broadcast today. Tune in if you can. Thank you to everyone for all of your support
we have received all the funds we need for all of his expenses. Thank you all
